Graduate Program

Welcome to the information page for the NMSU Department of Mathematical Sciences Graduate Program

New Mexico State University is located in Las Cruces NM, a city of about 100,000. Las Cruces has been placed on several lists of the best small cities to live in the United States. The climate and surrounding nature are beautiful and offer a variety of outdoor activities options including hiking at the Organ Mountain and White Sands National Parks. Or, you can take advantage of the many facilities the university has to offer for swimming, golf, tennis, and more. Living and seeking entertainment in Las Cruces is still much more affordable than even the National averages. The university is also in close proximity (40 miles North) to the large urban center of El Paso, Texas; one of the safest large cities in the United States.
